For Filling:

  • 1 cup cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup cabbage, shredded
  • 1 cup grated carrot
  • 1/2 cup boiled green peas
  • 1/4 cup chopped capsicum
  • 1 tablespoon peanut oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon chili sauce
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
  • Salt To taste

Other Ingredients:

  • 16 Spring Roll sheets
  • 1 tbsp cornflour mixed with water to make a paste
  • oil for deep frying

Directions:

Step 1

Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a wok or pan over medium heat.

Step 2

Saute Carrots, cabbage, green peas, capsicum, and chicken in hot oil.

Step 3

Cook and stir in the soy sauce, chili sauce.

Step 4

Season with salt and pepper. Mix throughly.

Step 5

Remove from the heat and set aside.

Step 6

Place a spring roll sheet on a dry surface.

Step 7

Put 1 tablespoon of the filling mixture in the centre of a wrapper square and gather all the 4 corners in the centre to form a pouch.

Step 8

Seal the centre of the fold with a little cornflour paste.

Step 9

Fluff out the gathers to make it look like a money bag.

Step 10

Repeat this procedure with remaining ingredients.

Step 11

Now heat oil in a deep pan and deep fry fro 2 minutes or until golden brown.

Step 12

Drain on an absorbent paper.

Step 13

Tie with a blade of lemon grass. Gold Bags are ready to serve. ENJOY!!
