Flaky Paratha Recipe

  • 4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup butter or ghee, melted
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp rose water
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt

Step 1

Place milk in a saucepan and warm it gently. Dissolve sugar in it. Then add rose water.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, sieve flour. Add salt, ghee and milk in it. Knead a soft dough by using water (if required).

Step 3

Then covered with a wet cloth and set aside for 40 minutes.

Step 4

Flatten the dough into a rectangular shape. Put 1 tbsp clarified butter on it.

Step 5

Spread evenly then dust with flour. Fold and make 3 layers. Then cover with a wet cloth and refrigerate for 10 minutes.

Step 6

Repeat this method 3 to 4 times. Now place the dough on a hard surface.

Step 7

Dust flour and roll it into a rectangular shape. Cut into squares by using sharp knife.

Step 8

Make 2 or 3 breads on each square. Then put individual sheets of butter paper.

Step 9

Refrigerate for 4 hours or until freeze.

Step 10

Heat a griddle and place paratha on it. Fry with clarified butter or ghee.

Step 11

Cook on medium heat for 2 minutes on each each side or until golden brown. Flaky Paratha is ready to serve. ENJOY!
