    Step 1

    Preheat oven to 400 degree F. Lightly grease a 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking pan with cooking spray. Set aside.

    Step 2

    In a large mixing bowl, cream butter with sugar. In a small bowl, whisk eggs with milk. In a separate bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, baking powder and salt. Fold flour mixture to the creamed mixture alternately with egg mixture.

    Step 3

    Pour this batter into the prepared baking pan. Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes then cut into squares. Buttery Corn Bread is ready to serve. Enjoy!!

    • 1 egg, lightly beaten
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1 cup cornmeal
    • 1 cup sour cream
    • 1/3 cup milk
    • 1/4 cup butter, melted
    • 1/4 cup sugar
    • 1/2 tsp baking powder
    • 1/2 tsp baking soda
    • 1/2 tsp salt

    Method:

    • Preheat oven to 400 degree F. Lightly grease a 8-inch square baking dish.
    • Set aside.
    • Place flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a large bowl.
    • Mix well.
    • In a separate bowl, combine together egg, milk, butter and sour cream.
    • Stir this mixture into flour mixture just until moistened.
    • Pour this batter into the greased baking dish.
    • Place baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
