    You don’t need to wait for an occasion to savor the sweet and creamy Suji halwa with Khoya as it can be prepared at home in just few minutes and does not require any expert cooking skills. This Suji Halwa with Khoya Recipe takes its taste and texture to next level as use of khoya and generous amount of dry fruits provide nice creamy texture while ghee and cardamom provides irresistible aroma.

    Suji Halwa with Khoya Recipe

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup semolina suji
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 1/2 cup clarified butter or ghee
    • 2 green cardamoms
    • 2 cups water
    • 1 cup khoya

    For Garnishing:

    • 2 tablespoon chopped peanuts
    • 2 tablespoon chopped almonds
    • 2 tablespoon chopped pistachios

    Instructions

    • Heat ghee in a pan over medium heat.
    • Add cardamom and semolina (suji) and roast it well.
    • Add sugar and water. Stir continuously till sugar is dissolved.
    • Leave it on low flame for 10 minutes to cook perfectly.
    • When ghee comes on top add khoya.Stir well.
    • Dish it out. Garnish with nuts. Suji Halwa with Khoya is ready to eat. ENJOY!!

    Notes

    1. Replace khoya with 4 tablespoons of dry milk powder and increase amount of sugar.
    2. It can be served as a dessert or as a sweet accompaniment to main dish.
    3. Serve it along with puri’s to entertain the guests.

    Ingredients:

    • 750 gm milk
    • 250 gm semolina
    • 250 gm clarified butter
    • 250 gm ricotta cheese, khoya
    • 4 cardamoms
    • 1-1/2 cups sugar
    • 1 tsp kewra
    • almonds and pistachios, for garnishing

    Directions:

    1. Soak semolina in milk for 2 hours.
    2. Heat clarified butter and stir semolina in it.
    3. When clarified butter comes out top, add sugar.
    4. Cook for 5 minutes or until sugar is dissolved.
    5. Add ground cardamoms, kewra essence and khoya.
    6. Stir well.
    7. Take it out in a serving bowl.
    8. Garnish with almonds and pistachios.
    9. Makhani Halwa is ready to serve.
    10. ENJOY!!.

    Step 1

    Take a microwave safe bowl and place sooji and ghee in it. Cook on High for 2 minutes.

    Semolina Dry Halwa Recipe

    Ingredients

    • 250 gm sugar
    • 150 gm clarified butter
    • 1/2 cup water
    • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
    • 2 tablespoon raisins
    • 2 tablespoon dried desiccated coconut
    • 50 gm almonds thinly sliced
    • 50 gm pistachios thinly sliced

    Instructions

    Method

    • Take a saucepan, combine sugar and water and cook on low heat for 10 minutes or until sugar is completely dissolved and the syrup thickens to a two thread consistency.
    • Meanwhile, heat 50 gm clarified butter in a deep wok.
    • Add semolina and stir fry for few minutes on low heat until it becomes fragrant.
    • Add desiccated coconut, raisins, nuts and cardamom powder; cook for a few minutes.
    • Add the hot thick sugar syrup and remaining melted ghee all at once, stirring continuously.
    • Cook for a couple of minutes till it is almost dry and halwa rolls into a ball.
    • Quickly spread out in a greased dish.
    • Garnish with almonds and pistachios.
    • Using a sharp knife, mark lines to make squares or diamonds and keep aside to set.
    • When it cools, cut through the scored lines.
    • Transfer to serving plate or store in air-tight container. Semolina Dry Halwa ready to enjoy!! 🙂
