Easy Red Chili Pakora Sauce Recipe

A quick and flavourful tomato-based pakora sauce with red chilli, lemon, and mint. It is spicy, tangy, slightly sweet, and ready without any cooking.

Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup tomato ketchup
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tsp mint sauce
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • ½ tsp red chilli powder or to taste
  • ¼ tsp sugar optional
  • tsp salt or to taste
  • 1-2 tbsp water as required

Method
 

  1. Add the tomato ketchup and tomato paste to a small bowl. Mix until smooth.
  2. Add the mint sauce, lemon juice, red chilli powder, sugar, and salt.
  3. Stir until all the ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  4. Add one tablespoon of water. Mix and add more water only if needed.
  5. Taste and adjust the chilli, sweetness, salt, or lemon juice.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for 15–20 minutes.
  7. Serve chilled with freshly fried pakoras, samosas, or your favourite snacks.

Notes

  • Adjust the chilli powder according to your preferred spice level.
  • Add water gradually to avoid making the sauce too thin.
  • If the ketchup is already very sweet, leave out the sugar.
  • Store leftover sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
